Amazon Web Services has introduced Amazon Connect Health, a new healthcare-focused platform designed to automate administrative tasks using agentic AI. Announced on March 4, 2026, the platform aims to streamline workflows for healthcare providers while improving patient interactions through intelligent automation.

Healthcare systems spend a large portion of their time and resources handling administrative work such as appointment scheduling, patient verification, and documentation. AWS is positioning Amazon Connect Health as a way to reduce that burden by allowing AI agents to handle multi-step workflows that normally require manual staff intervention.

The platform integrates directly with electronic health record systems, including widely used platforms such as Epic and Cerner, enabling AI to operate within existing clinical workflows rather than functioning as a separate tool.

Pricing and Deployment

AWS has introduced a subscription pricing model for Amazon Connect Health.

The service starts at $99 per month per user, covering up to 600 patient encounters per month. This capacity aligns with the workload of many primary care physicians, who typically manage around 300 patient encounters monthly.

Some features are available immediately, including appointment scheduling and patient insights. Additional capabilities, such as automated medical coding, are scheduled for rollout later in 2026.

Because the platform integrates directly with electronic health record systems, deployment can be incorporated into existing healthcare IT environments rather than requiring entirely new infrastructure.
